Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6 Week 8The final week :-(Tuesday 12 September 2000 - 18.11This will be my final entry in the puppy diary, stay tuned to the pages though for news of the litter in the newsgroup, and new pictures that I will keep posting. Mr Purple left us on Friday afternoon, it was an emotional affair, he was such a cuddly pup who was delighted to fall asleep on my lap. I sniffed and kissed him all I could, and then handed him over quickly. He did cry in the car, and cried at night for a few nights, but his family absolutely adore him, and I am sure that he adores them. The plan was that on Saturday Mr Black would be leaving, and on Sunday the two Miss Spotties would leave. That would leave us with two dogs, Mr Blue and Mr Red, for at least another week. Strangely enough, on Friday night, and Saturday morning we found two perfect families for them. Its odd that you can hunt for months, and then find two in the space of a few hours. This is how it went. Mr Black left us as planned, that too was very sad, I just wanted to squeeze him until he went blue!! He kept looking back at me as he was taken, how easy it would have been to run after the family and tell them that I had made a terrible mistake. Mr Blue's owners drove up from Cornwall and arrived around midday, he and the pup seem to hit it off right away. I felt ok, I was worried about the journey, and hoped that he would not get sick, or anything. I felt happy for him to be going to such a beautiful part of the country. Mr Red's owners were overjoyed, it was love at first sight! and the cuddly fella left mid afternoon. I felt a bit sick, especially when I looked in the pen, and just two little faces looked up at me. Even more so when I knew that I had less than 24 hours before there would be no little faces. I couldn't face keeping them in the pen, so out they came, and for just a day, they really were MY puppies. Miss Red Spotty was first to go, it was tearful, but she has only gone a few streets away, so I know I will get to see her as often as I like. That left Miss Black Spotty, who trailed around after me for the rest of the day, biting at my ankles, running in between my legs and trying to trip me up! She got tired, and headed for the bed in the pen (the gate was down) It almost broke my heart to see her curled up in that great big bed. She let out a little whimper, and then fell fast asleep. I can't describe how I felt when Miss Black Spotty left. The house seemed to echo - no, I haven't got the words. I bundled the family into the car, and we took off for a long walk down the canal (Hatton Locks for those of you familiar with the area) We hadn't done any long long walks all summer because of getting back for the pups, so I know that both dogs enjoyed themselves tremendously. Later that evening I drowned my sorrows, I kept hearing them cry, thank god I had Molly and Sunny to cuddle still :) Molly has been fine. She seems overjoyed actually! and seems to have gone back to puppyhood with her playfullness and 'joie de vivre' Its time to get her (and me) back into shape. I have spoken several times to all of the new owners and all the pups are doing excellent :) Its great to be able to spread some happiness around, and its great to listen to each one telling me that they definately picked the best pup!!! Further updates will be written in the newsgroup for those of you who want to continue to follow the progress of Molly's litter. Finally, I would like to just say a big 'Thank You' to Brian James http://www.brianjamesphotography.co.uk For his patience and assistance over the last few weeks. Goodbye :-)
